A 1986 A. Hays Town design, this 4800 sq. ft. office building in Baton Rouge, Louisiana had changed hands several times; differing needs resulted in multiple modifications. The company currently leasing the building was altering its work process to adjust to the work environment, rather than tailoring the workspace to best suit its needs. Dimly lit and compartmentalized, the task at hand was to center the layout on departmental functionality, enhance the quality of the space with open work areas and natural lighting, and create efficient interior/exterior circulation patterns, all while maintaining the historical significance of the building.
