Calcasieu Parish: Hurricane Laura Disaster Recovery

On August 27, 2020, Hurricane Laura swept across Calcasieu Parish, resulting in catastrophic damages. Recorded as one of the strongest hurricanes on record to make landfall in the United States, Hurricane Laura attained its peak 1-minute sustained winds of 150 mph on August 26, 2020, making it a Category 4 hurricane that crippled communities and caused over $19 billion in damages on the southwest region of Louisiana. The project involved FEMA funding and included CSRS program managers as well as ICF grant managers.
